Mrs. Junia Riley Furr, 87, a former resident of this community, died at her home at Frankfort Friday evening. She had been an invalid for the past three years as the result of a fall in which her hips were fractured. Mrs. Furr was born near Mellott to Elias and Samantha Short Riley on Jan. 24, 1872. She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace Furr of Mellott. Survivors include two daughters, Nora at home and Mrs. Artie Philpott of Frankfort; a son Glenn who is living in the western part of the country; a half-brother, Irvin Riley, of Mellott, and three half-sisters, Mrs. Carrie Gott and Mrs. Alpha Duncan of Mellott and Mrs. Josephine Akin of Hillsboro. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, in Monticello.

Frankfort – Mrs. Junia Etta Furr, 87, of 655 West South died at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Clinton County hospital.  She had been ill several years. Born in Fountain County, she lived in Monticello for 27 years before coming here in 1948. She was married in 1891 to Wallace W. Furr who died in 1927.  She was a member of Monticello First Christian Church. Surviving are a son, Glenn; two daughters, Mrs. Artie Philpott and Mrs. Nora McKinney, both of Frankfort; three half sisters, Mrs. Carrie Gott and Mrs. Alpha Dunkin both of Mellott and Mrs. Josephine Akin of Hillsboro and a half brother, Irwin Riley of Mellott.

Body will then be taken to Smith & Aufenberg funeral home, Monticello where friends may call after 7 p.m. Sunday.  Services at Smith & Aufenberg 2 p.m. Monday, Rev. Meyer A. Madison officiating. Interment in Riverview cemetery, Monticello.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
